IT CADETS LAUNCHES NEW RASPBERRY PI PROJECT THANKS TO #WEMAKEICTPOSSIBLE DIGITAL POVERTY CAMPAIGN
Smart Digital launched a ‘Walk The Walk’ campaign earlier in the year in a bid to get other local businesses to support the #WeMakeICTPossible campaign whilst also supporting their own business.
The ‘Walk The Walk’ campaign sees Smart Digital donate THREE devices per each new local business which signs up to Smart Digital’s services. Smart Digital is a business solutions company to which aims to reduce a business’ current photocopying and printing costs using award-winning Canon kit.
The Musketeers continuously liaise with its strategic partners, local education providers and wider ICT organisations in its mission to tackle digital poverty in the local area. After talking to IT Cadets whilst giving a previous donation of computers to expand the IT and Math Cadets offering, The Musketeers and Smart Digital wanted to support further and so an initial three donations of Raspberry Pi systems have been donated. The Raspberry Pi systems are going to be used by the current IT Cadet cohort to create magic mirror photobooth systems.
David Marriot, Founder of IT Cadets, says “This is very welcome donation and support from Smart Digital. The donation of Raspberry Pi computers enables us to keep raising the bar of what we can teach and coach the cadets, whilst ensuring our cost for the training remains viable for parents with tightening budgets. The cadets and myself are indebted to the continued support from The Musketeers and now Smart Digital – thanks again for this wonderful donation and continued support”.
